Foster Care Matters is really looking forward to welcoming a new group of people as they begin their journey into fostering on our upcoming Prepare to Foster course.
Starting this journey is a big and meaningful step, and this course is all about building the knowledge, confidence and understanding needed to become a foster parent.
Over the coming weeks, participants will explore the realities of fostering, develop new skills, and deepen their understanding of how to support children and young people.
But it’s not just about the training…it’s also about the people. One of the most special parts of the course is seeing a group of individuals come together, all at the very beginning of their fostering journeys – sharing experiences, supporting one another, and forming connections that often turn into lasting friendships.
This is where your fostering community begins.
Deb Reid, our Recruitment and Family Matching Co-Ordinator, says:
“Everyone who enquires about fostering, and then goes on to apply, has their own story and their own ‘why’. I think it’s so important that we take the time to really get to know you and what’s brought you here. At Foster Care Matters, we focus on building those connections so that together we can grow a supportive and caring fostering community.”
We can’t wait to meet everyone and start this journey together.
This course also comes at a really special time for us, as it runs during Foster Care Fortnight and around our 2nd anniversary, so there will definitely be cake as we celebrate together.
